Training, and times
Summer training typically starts in May at our current home ground in Messukylä (see Maps), and is usually takes place every Wednesday from 18:00-20:00, until early September. See EVENTS
Winter indoor training typically starts in January - in 2007 it was scheduled for Saturday afternoons from 18:00-20:00 in the Hatanpääkoulu (Haapakuja 20) from 14.Jan.-22.Apr. (Note: Buses 1, 3, 6, 7, and 21 - all from Keskustori). It is important to get there early enough to best make use of these precious 120 minutes ! (Cost: only 2 EUR each!) See EVENTS
Coaching & introductory courses
We are also happy to arrange Introductory Cricket Courses at local schools ( Lastenkriketti ja Koulukriketti ), and can also provide basic coaching to adults. Just contact us !!!
Other activities
Throughout the Summer, on weekends for which no FCA league matches are scheduled, we hope to play either friendly matches against other FCA league & development teams, or then local Tampere vs Tampere social matches. This is a excellent opportunity for newcomers and social members to come along and get acquainted with the Tampere Cricket Club, and either just learn about, or actually play, the wonderful game of cricket.
Make sure you try to time your visit to include our famous lunch. :-)
We have also been participating in the:
- Turku indoor tournament,
- SKK annual Six-a-side competitions,
- Spirit of Cricket weekend activities,
and have even hosted the Saumur Strays touring team and the first ever women's match in Finland against the SKK Ladies. In 2005, we also made a tour to Stockholm to visit Jinnah CC (the 2005 Swedish champions!). The Earlham Village Cricket Club (Norwich, England) visited us in 2006.
